History

In Chennai at Ayanavaram locality a Venkatesapuram residential colony was formed. People residing in that colony formed an a Association of their own and named it as Venkatesapuram Association. It was duly registered.

Tamil Nadu Housing Board had allotted 24 ground area for creating a park in that colony. VP colony Association members requested the Tamil Nadu Housing Board to allot a space to build a school for their children and duly obtained permission therefor.

Accordingly with the help of the Association members a Junior Basic School was built and started in 1954 with only two teachers for classes 1 to 5. Initially 47 children studied therein. Soon it was upgraded in to in a Senior Basic School with the addition of classes VI to VIII. In the beginning this school was functioning in a shed built by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board. It also conducted cultural programmes and raised funds. At this critical juncture with God’s grace Sri.J.H.Tarapore a noted philanthropist came forward and helped us with a large munificence. Several school buildings were constructed in this campus.
